Shafeen Farooq

Hello, I’m Shafeen Farooq, the founder of Mind and Soul Counselling and a qualified integrative counsellor holding a BA (Hons) in Integrative Counselling. I am also a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

I am deeply committed to supporting individuals on their journey towards healing personal growth and emotional well-being. My approach is centred on building a strong, trusting therapeutic relationship to ensure that you feel supported and safe throughout our work. We will work together at your own pace to achieve your goals and equip you with tools and strategies that you can take away and continue using beyond our sessions.

My personal experience of struggling to find a counsellor who truly understood my religious, cultural background and identity is what inspired me to pursue this career. After my own healing journey, I decided to become the counsellor I wish I had, someone who truly understands and appreciates the unique challenges faced by individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds. This journey has also inspired me to gain knowledge and experience in other areas of diversity, so I can offer my services to a wider community.

I’m passionate about offering my services to a safe and inclusive space where people from all walks of life can feel heard, understood and empowered.

It’s important that you know: no issue is too small to be addressed. Your mental and emotional health matters just as much as anyone else’s. Whether you are dealing with anxiety, depression, relationship struggles, cultural identity challenges, gender identity or anything else, I believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to feel supported and empowered on their journey.
